Japanese Rice Washing Bowl with Side and Bottom Drainers, Clear 2 Pack

Japanese Rice Washing Bowl with Side and Bottom Drainers, Clear 2 Pack

$16.79★★★★★666

We mould this bowl with narrow drain slits placed directly into the side wall and base. The water escapes quickly while the rice grains stay inside the basin where they belong.

Two bowls come in the pack for prep counters where space is tight. They nest inside each other to sit flat on a low pantry shelf.

What makes it work

  • Moulded in Japan from clear food grade plastic with clean edges throughout.
  • Measures 10 in long, 11 in wide, and 5 in high across the rim.
  • Slits along the side and bottom release milky water without spilling grain over the lip.
  • Pack includes two identical clear basins that nest together when put away.

How to use

Put your dry rice into the bowl and add cold water from the tap. Swirl the grains with your fingers to lift the starch, then tip the bowl toward the drain wall to pour the cloudy water away. Repeat two or three times until the water runs clear.

Care

Wash by hand with mild dish soap and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive scouring pads to keep the clear plastic smooth and free of scratches.
