Japanese Rice Washing Bowl with Side and Bottom Drainers$8.95★★★★★14,026
Japanese Rice Washing Bowl with Strainer
This 2.5-quart bowl handles rice washing in one container. We moulded fine drainage slits directly into the base and along one upper sidewall so water flows through while the grain stays put.
The shape replaces the awkward pairing of a standard mixing bowl and a separate wire colander. It sits flat in the sink basin during rinsing and tips forward cleanly when you empty it.

What makes it work
- Moulded in Japan from BPA-free food-grade plastic that holds up to daily sink duty.
- A 2.5-quart interior volume leaves plenty of room to submerge and swirl rice grains, barley, or berries under the faucet.
- Bottom slits let clouding starch and heavy grit wash straight through into the sink drain below.
- Side slits along the upper rim catch floating husks and surface foam as you tip the bowl forward.
How to use
Measure your rice directly into the base. Run cold tap water over the grain while swirling it with your hand. Clouded water and fine starch drop through the bottom slits, and tipping the bowl sends floating debris out through the side wall. Repeat until the runoff clears.
Care
Rinse the plastic under warm water right after use to prevent drying starch from clinging to the slits. Wash it by hand or place it on the top rack of your dishwasher.
