The quiet workshop
Inomata Chemical has been moulding household plastics in Yokkaichi, Mie prefecture since 1957. We are not a famous company and have never tried to be one. We make rice washing bowls, food keepers, baskets, basins: the small supporting cast of a household, drawn for homes where every centimetre is spoken for.
What this site is
This catalog is the reading room for our range. Each card tells you what a piece is for, what it is made of and how big it really is, in centimetres and inches. The notebook holds the longer answers: how to wash rice, how to keep plastic clear for years, where a basin earns its hook.
What this site is not
It is not a store. A large retail partner stocks our range, and the button on any card opens the live listing there. Checkout, delivery and everything after the click happen on the partner’s side, under the partner’s rules. We stick to the part we know: making the things and explaining them honestly.
Seventy years on, the recipe has not changed: good polypropylene, honest moulds, small ambitions. The dot on the rim of our rice bowls is still the same red.
